Sports journalism for people who follow the game closely.

HandsOnBet is a sports media publication. We cover football and basketball — the news, the tactics, the transfers, the previews — and we explain betting properly for readers who want to understand it rather than be sold to.

How this whole thing started

We started as a small Telegram group swapping football talk among friends. The conversations that kept going were never the tips — they were the arguments about why a side kept conceding from wide areas, or whether a signing actually fixed anything. So when the group outgrew Telegram, we built a publication rather than a tipster page.

Most sites in this space are built to sell you something, with the writing as decoration. We went the other way. The articles are the product: season previews, tactical breakdowns, transfer analysis, and betting explainers written to teach rather than to convert.

Everything carries a byline. If one of our writers gets something wrong, you know who wrote it, and you can hold the work to a standard. That is a low bar, and it is one most of this industry still does not clear.

What we believe in

📝

Every article is signed

Nothing here is published anonymously. You can see who wrote a piece, read everything else they have written, and judge the work accordingly.

🔍

We show our reasoning

An opinion without an argument is just noise. Our previews and tactical pieces explain how we got there, so you can disagree with the reasoning rather than take our word for it.

🤝

No invented numbers

You will not find a win rate, a profit graph or a screenshot of a winning slip on this site. Those figures are unverifiable by design, which is exactly why they are everywhere else.

🛡️

Betting covered honestly

We write about betting because our readers bet. That means explaining the maths, the risk and the house edge — not promising outcomes nobody can promise.

What we actually do here

We publish football and basketball coverage across several strands: news and transfer business, club-by-club season previews, tactical analysis of how sides actually set up, and player profiles. Alongside that sits a large library of betting explainers — what a market means, how odds are priced, where the value usually is and is not.

Separately, we run a subscription feed built on arbitrage and value-bet data from BreakingBet. That is a data service, not a tipster service: it surfaces pricing discrepancies between bookmakers. It is described in full, including the risks, on our premium feed page.

Coverage beyond the usual five leagues

We cover the Premier League, La Liga and the Champions League like everyone else — but our readers are largely in Nigeria and across West Africa, and that shapes what we write about. The NPFL, the South African PSL, the Kenyan and Ghanaian top flights and CAF competitions get coverage here that most English-language outlets never bother with.

Our bookmaker reviews cover operators that actually serve African markets — not just the big European names. We test deposit and withdrawal methods that matter to our users: mobile money, Paystack, bank transfers, and crypto. Because a bookmaker review that doesn't mention your country's payment methods isn't very helpful, is it?

A word about responsible betting

We want to be upfront about something: betting involves risk. You will lose some bets. Even with the best analysis in the world, no one wins every time. The goal isn't to win every single bet — it's to make profitable decisions over time.

Please only bet what you can genuinely afford to lose. Don't chase losses. Don't bet when you're emotional. And if betting ever stops being fun, take a break. We have a dedicated Responsible Betting page with resources and tools that can help.
